Music: The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC6
Tomorrow will mark a week since I finished writing the manuscript. Since then, I have been on something of a natural high. Nothing really seems to bother me. Maybe it has something to with the fact that I focused on doing something that I have wanted to do for over 8 years and did everything I needed to do in order to accomplish it. When I completed it, I felt (besides elation, of course) as if I had stepped from one part of my life into another. I'm one step closer to realizing my dreams. All I have to do is focus on editing the manuscript and the other things I need to do in order to get it published with the same intensity as I did while I was writing it.
Focus. Intentionality. Intensity. Time Control. False Slack. These are some of the concepts that have been brewing in my mind over the last week. I have been focusing so intensely on writing over the past six months that when I had an opportunity to do so and I didn't, I felt like I was cheating myself. The act of writing the book, as a whole, appears to have been an enlightening experience. It made me realize just how little I had been up to yet how much I can accomplish. One thing that I have long talked about yet have done little about has been getting in shape. If I can focus on my own personal well-being on like I did on writing, then I will be one fit hombre.
How did I accomplish all this? The funny thing is that all I am doing is what you already know you should do. Yes, it really is that simple, yet the hard part is being intentional in everything that you do. The answers were always in front of me, all I had to do is take them on.
PS- Do yourself a favor and check out The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC6. Craig Charles played Lister on the awesome Brit sci-fi series Red Dwarf, which is why I looked into it. Little did I know how mahfunkin' funky it was gonna be...
