Winter In Los Angeles
Music: Black Keys "Rubber Factory"
Winter in Los Angeles seems to consist of rain and temperatures that never reach freezing. The only problem is that since Los Angeles is in a valley surrounded by mountains, there is a lot of runoff water. Since almost every piece of land is paved over, there is nowhere for the water to go but into the sewers and into the Los Angeles River. Normally a dry concrete canyon, when it rains, the Los Angeles River, which empties into the Pacific Ocean at Long Beach, becomes a force of nature to be reckoned with. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who maintain the LA River, consider it to be the most dangerous river west of the Mississippi. This picture was taken at the Glendale Narrows, which is where scenes from T2, starring the Governator, were filmed.
